Soft bristle and loop brushes should be used during your Nano-link hair extension aftercare. Wide tooth combs can be used when your Nano-link hair extensions are wet. Brush the ends first then work your way to the links using a downward motion. Brush nano-link hair extensions before bedtime and in the morning. Frequent brushing will reduce tangling and improve the appearance of the nano-link hair extensions.
Lather phosphate free shampoo at the scalp then gently lather through the lengths of your nano-link hair extensions during Nano-link hair extension aftercare. Do not apply conditioner to the roots of your hair or near the bond area. Conditioner can weaken the bonds causing shedding and deterioration of the extensions and can make your extensions fall out. You should wash your hair 1 to 2 times per week. You can use dry shampoo to control oil inbetween washes. If you use purple shampoo, avoid the bond area as it can cause the bonds to break down.
You can blow dry your hair or let your nano-link hair extensions air dry during your Nano-link Hair Extension aftercare. You can use flat irons, curling irons, and hot rollers as normal but be sure to avoid touching the bonds with high heat. When blow drying your hair, dry the scalp and bond area completely. The #1 cause of matting is allowing the bond area to remain damp or going to bed with wet hair.
Nano-link hair Extensions should be tied back in a low ponytail or braid while sleeping during the nano-link hair extension aftercare. This will prevent tangling. Never sleep with wet hair as this will cause matting.
You can use a heat shield spray if you heat style your nano-link hair extensions during your nano-link hair extension aftercare. You can also apply a smoothing oil on the ends of the extensions to ensure they stay soft. Be sure to avoid applying oil based products near the links and or bonds. Avoid using hairspray unless absolutely necessary as alcohol can be very drying on nano-link hair extensions.
It is vital that you attend your maintenance appointments as part of your nano-link hair extension aftercare. Going longer than the recommended period for your hair type can cause tangling and damage to your natural hair. Your touch-up appointment for your nano-link hair extensions should be scheduled every 6-8 weeks.
Do not attempt to remove your Nano-link hair extensions yourself. You must go to an experienced technician for removal to ensure no damage is done to your natural hair.
